Even though we bought Isaac's potty supplies months ago, there was never a good time to really get him trained. Then the baby came and that would have been too many changes at once, so we pushed it back. Now it has been two months and Aunt Vicki is back in town for a week-and with her help we are tackling this once and for all!
So today we put his underwear on. We then began to dispense beverages and set the timer to take him into the bathroom every 15 minutes. 20 minutes and three wet pairs of underwear later, I was starting to sweat! But then came success right before lunch and we celebrated. The afternoon was a disaster as he went through each pair of underwear one by one again!
Well, we headed out to dinner to take a break bringing along all our potty supplies and clean underwear, pull-up, etc. and when Billy took him in to the restroom and put him on his disposable toilet protector....the child peed!! We freaked out thinking it was such a fluke but then 45 minutes later after our meal, I took him in and he peed again!! So does this mean tomorrow we will have to drive him to the Olive Garden every 15 minutes to pee?
We think he might not care for his training potty so we are going to buy him a child size toilet seat that fits right on the big potty and see if that motivates him. Keep your fingers crossed! It seems like an up-hill battle!
