No, Lucy didn't give birth! Today we welcomed home a 7 lb. Pomeranian mix, little boy! His name is Oscar (he came with that name) and we drove out to west Texas to pick him up from a Humane Society there. He is awesome!! He is 8 months old, already housebroken and so sweet. He was rescued from living a life in the backyard and being used as a stud to breed. His mother, cousins (7 week old puppies), and sister were all taken as well and found new homes. He was the only one left. He and Lucy are doing well with a little growling here and there, but nothing concerning. He was shy at first but took to me right away...Billy is a bit jealous. He follows me everywhere, I am never out of sight! What a love bug too, he has the sweetest little kisses. So far he is so mild mannered, doesn't bark, doesn't run around helter skelter, hasn't tried to chew anything. We will see how the next few days go. We got him a crate where he will have time-outs several times a day to get used to being crated while we are gone or can't keep an eye on him.
We have wanted a second dog since we fostered for the Humane Society here in town 2 summers ago, but didn't want the liability of bringing another dog into the family with foster children. And we certainly didn't want a new dog while dealing with the trials of a newborn! So as Vivi neared her 3 month mark, we began to hunt around and stumbled across this sweet little guy. Other than occasional trips to the groomers he should be pretty easy to keep up with. I am home a lot more now that we have the baby and she hates her car seat, so there is lots of time to love on my kids and dogs! We will keep you updated on how we are all doing with our new addition!
