Baby Food

When we got home from Oklahoma, I spent the rest of the weekend preparing Vivi's baby food for the next month or so. Our pediatrician said that once she has been on cereals for a week, we can begin to introduce fruits and vegetables one at a time. She said we would see within 72 hours if she was going to have an allergic reaction, so that means every three days she gets to try new tastes! My plan is to do vegetables at night with baby rice cereal and fruits in the morning with baby oatmeal cereal. So last night she had sweet potatoes and in a few days she will try pears. It is a great feeling knowing that we are starting our child off on the right foot with her nutrition. The tricky thing is finding organic fruits and vegetables, but after a little driving around I got a good amount to start with. Around the time she is 6 months old and can try some stonger flavors, I will go to Whole Foods in Dallas. Happy Eating, Vivianna!

That is great she is starting on solids. There is a store in Flower Mound called Sprouts. It is a whole foods store. We have been going to Central Market in Plano for our fruit and veggies. They are so yoummy.

Yeah we went to sprouts and they were very annoying. There is only a small table of organic produce and then the produce guy said that there is no difference between organic and regular produce. Billy and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. I guess he has not kept up with the certified organic farming standards.I was going to tell him that pesticide studies have only been conducted on adults, which have shown no significant problems-however they have not been done on infants and children. But I didn't! :) We may go to the central market in Southlake too, that is probably closer than Whole Foods. On the topic-I am part of a meat co-op with other moms from my moms club. We get our meat from a farm called "Frans Fryers".They have free range animals. The farm has a website, let me know if you want to join! We order about twice a month and I pick it up at one of the girls houses in Corinth. Hope you guys are doing well!
