The past two Sundays, we have gone to a church in town. It is small (50-75 people) and it is ethnically diverse. The pastor and the worship singers are African American. The pastors wife (I've known her for years) is Caucasian and so are the musicians. The rest of the church reflects this same kind of mix of races. We have really enjoyed it! The music is lively! Isaac was getting down yesterday dancing and stomping... entertaining the congregation behind us, for sure! The service is different. They do a welcome song, then break up to tables to discuss the text for that week in a small group-then praise and worship, and then the sermon. Afterwards they serve dinner so we all sit and eat and fellowship together as a "family". The people are so friendly and welcoming and we are settling in nicely. Now, only if Isaac would let us leave him in the nursery!! We are working up to that. The church has been looking for a base player and a piano player, so maybe Billy would get the opportunity to play with them sometime. Isaac met a little girl at church, his age, named Zoe. She had the cutest twists all over her hair. Well, when I was reading to him before bed last night, he pointed to a girl in the book and said "Zoe!" The picture was an African American girl with twists all over her hair! I just about died over his cuteness. :)
