In all seriousness though, please pray for us. She cries and fusses most of her waking hours and she doesn't sleep for very long stretches so it feels like we have no break. We are up all night trying to soothe this wild beast back to sleep and the stress of it is taking a toll. Our heads, neck, and shoulders are in constant pain and poor Isaac isn't sure what to make of it all as he runs around with the pacifier trying to coax us to jam it in her mouth (like we hadn't already tried that!) The sheer exhaustion of it all feels like it has no end in sight. But we continue to hope and pray this is a phase and that it will pass. My parents have been so sweet to take her several nights over the past 2 months to give us a break. But the break is short lived and then we are back on the crying...rocking...swaddling...singing....bouncing...track all over again. My eyes are shutting just writing this. She is asleep after hours of trying so I better go to bed while I have the chance!

hey! have you looked into food allergies or reflux? shae was (FINALLY) diagnosed with reflux at 6 weeks. up until then, she didn't sleep, cried a lot .. we tried everything. she wasn't losing weight so our pediatrician first thought it was a food allergy. then, he thought she was colicky.. anyway, within three days of the diagnosis and the medications, she was sleeping 6 hours at night and her daytime crying was down to almost nothing. just thought i'd mention it. i know you're dying for some relief!
We go to the DR for her 2 month check-up on Monday the 14th. I'll mention this. Did Shae spit up?
she didn't spit up a lot but when she did it came out of her mouth and nose. when we first saw our pediatrician at 1 wk, he put her on enfamil AR because it's thicker. it stayed down well - she didn't spit a lot so she was gaining weight, but she was still refluxing. the acid burns, so she was crying and couldn't sleep. at one month, we were exhausted and she was exhausted and uncomfortable, poor baby! he switched her to a protein based formula.. it was thin and she started spitting again -- and choking. she would stop breathing -- it was scary. some of her symptoms - sleeping in short intervals, arching her back and neck and crying while eating, gagging herself with her fingers, choking / closing her airway, gulping, drooling a lot, frequent hiccups.
vivi sure has a lot to say! thanks for the "true life" pics -- we'll keep praying for you guys...
have you tried a sling? I've read that sometimes babies like to be in one. Although, I don't have much successful experience, B, enjoyed it when he was small, in a tummy to tummy/nursing (although I wasn't) wrap. Laying horizontal, towards you. www.mamatoto.org
I'll be praying!!
Yes, We have an Ergo carrier with the infant insert so she lays in a reclined/sideways position. She pretty much hates it. She claws at me and screams. I've even tried taking her for 2 walks in it and she freaked out. I try to put her in it several times a week because she needs to get used to it.
