Group Profile
It was time to have their picture taken. Inside, Isiah and his sister Sha'Kayla pose for the camera. They are awaiting the arrival of their two brothers whom they haven't seen in a year; separated by different foster homes, far apart. "It's sad to not to be with your own brothers and sisters," says Isiah. Then, the moment they had been waiting for. Sha'Kayla runs to her brothers with open arms. "I like to visit my brothers," she says with a soft, sweet voice. Corderius says, "It is great we get to take a picture with each other and see each other. I miss seeing my other brother and sister every day." Foster care has actually given these children back their security and stability. Corderius is the leader of the group and the big brother. "I like to go shopping. I like to go outside. I like to ride my bike. I like to play football, basketball and skate." Next in line, Isiah. He likes attention. "I like it when girls look at me. A long time ago when girls started calling me handsome, that's when I started acting shy," he says with a sheepish grin. Then, there's Joemorian. I asked him, "Do you get in trouble at all?" He replies, "Not that much at school. I have a good day." And rounding out the group is Sha'Kayla. She's the princess. "I love my brothers." And Joemorian says, "I want a forever family." A forever family where they can grow up together and never be separated again.
